SMTP Settings

The SMTP settings allow you to configure the email sending options for your Roboexchanger platform. These settings are essential for sending transactional emails, notifications, and other communications to your users. Below are the detailed descriptions and instructions for configuring each setting:

Mail Type #

  • Description: Determines the method used for sending emails.
  • Required: Yes
  • Options:
    • SMTP: Use the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol for sending emails.
    • Sendmail: Use the Sendmail program for sending emails.
  • Example: Select “SMTP” if you want to use an SMTP server to send emails.

Mail Encryption #

  • Description: Specifies the type of encryption to use for securing email communications.
  • Required: Yes
  • Options:
    • SSL: Secure Sockets Layer
    • TLS: Transport Layer Security
    • STARTTLS: A way to take an existing insecure connection and upgrade it to a secure connection using SSL/TLS
  • Example: Select “TLS” if your SMTP server supports TLS encryption.

Mail Host #

  • Description: The hostname of your SMTP server.
  • Required: Yes
  • Example: “smtp.example.com”

Mail Port #

  • Description: The port number used by your SMTP server.
  • Required: Yes
  • Example: “587” for TLS, “465” for SSL

Mail Username #

  • Description: The username used to authenticate with your SMTP server.

Mail Password #

Mail From Address #

  • Description: The email address that will appear in the “From” field of outgoing emails.

Configuration Instructions #

  1. Mail Type:
    • Navigate to the Settings Menu.
    • Select SMTP Settings.
    • Find the Mail Type option and select either “SMTP” or “Sendmail”.
  2. Mail Encryption:
    • Navigate to the Settings Menu.
    • Select SMTP Settings.
    • Find the Mail Encryption option and select either “SSL”, “TLS”, or “STARTTLS”.
  3. Mail Host:
    • Navigate to the Settings Menu.
    • Select SMTP Settings.
    • Find the Mail Host field and enter the hostname of your SMTP server.
